With the retro-flair of an old Hemingway novel, Bombora, a contemporary ocean front world cuisine restaurant opened on the Boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland. With sweeping views of the ocean and the beach, the restaurant is centrally located on the Boardwalk at 13th Street. Chef Arturo Paz hails from high-end, celebrity-driven hot spots in Miami, New York and Hollywood.
He is a master of contemporary cooking, marrying Latin and Asian influences with fresh, seasonal ingredients and inventive, inspiring preparations. Bombora’s menu features a wide range of small plates and larger plates ideal for sharing. Start with the ceviche trio or try the sour orange marinated skirt steak. The cashew chicken lettuce cups and the pork and fig flatbread are also guest favorites.
Signature entrées include a whole fried yellowtail snapper with Asian slaw and red Thai curry; a Mojo marinated pork flat iron with arugula and green plantains; and a 16 oz. cowboy ribeye. The ambiance is casual, relaxed yet elegant. In addition to a progressive wine list, Bombora features craft beers, artisan spirits and freshly squeezed cocktails.
Chef Paz has earned a reputation for his sexy and exciting creations. An author, a TV personality, and a consultant, Paz has helmed the kitchens of some of America’s trendiest restaurants. From Baleen in Miami Beach to The Mango Tree Café in New York, LA’s Republic Restaurant & Prana Café, his own Arturo’s in Puerto Rico, and Phillips Seafood restaurant in Baltimore, Md., the chef brings years of experience and flavorful plans for the future. Located in the newly renovated Beach Plata Hotel, Bombora seats 175 guests with seating on oceanfront porch and patio.
It is open for dinner nightly and will serve full breakfast and lunch menus starting Memorial Day weekend. Reservations are available at 410.289.9121 or log onto http://www.bomboraoc.com
