The biggest honor at the Summer Fancy Food show is the Sofi awards and they are awarded to the best of the best.
I was fortunate enough to meet a few of the winners at the show and hold meaningful interviews with some lovely women behind some very unflappable brands.

SaraBeth levine, creator and owner behind SaraBeth’s Kitchen, is a multi-award winner at NASFT’s Fancy Food show. Her infamous strawberry syrup won a Sofi award in 2008 and her Blood Orange marmalade took home the prize in 2009. All in all she has won 6 awards yet she’s definitely not done. As a consummate jam maker in the field, her indomitable spirit and strong work ethic helped her rise to the top. Furthermore, she has wonderful advice for anyone who wants to start and run a successful company.
SaraBeth Levine: ” The harder you work, the luckier you will get.”
I was thoroughly impressed with her and her staff’s work ethic and motivation to be the best. Her soups and jams were a wonderful conclusion to my day.
I highly recommend that you visit her website and like her on Facebook. You will not regret this decision. Her food is high caliber and only fashioned with the best ingredients out there.

If you are a fan of decadent crackers then you must be a fan of Polka Dot Bake Shop’s sweet potato chips. Jennifer Chapman and Michelle Millers, creators behind the award winning sweet potato cracked black pepper chip, won this year’s Sofi award for best cracker. Long before the company ensconced themselves into being foodie-royalty, the company had humble beginnings as a retail bakery.
Jennifer Chapman, co-creator of Polka Dot Bake Shop, said, “We only use sweet potatoes straight from farmers from North Carolina. It’s our way of using the best ingredients and our way of supporting our state of North Carolina.”
