Warning: this might be the shortest article ever written on H1, H2 and H3 tags. Knowing how to use these tags correctly is something that A LOT of people do not know.
When in fact, it is pretty simple to use. However, you must pay heed to what I am about to share with you. Miss a step, and you will mess up this marketing strategy. If you want your articles to rank high on Google’s algorithm, pay close attention to each step since it also pertains simple SEO and keyword use here too.
But first let’s dive into what Header tags are exactly. Quite simply, header tags are used to separate the heading of a page or the article from the rest of the content. Header tags makes articles more SEO friendly. Think of it this say: If you look for a book in a store, doesn’t it help to have separate categories (headings) for each genre versus instead having it all jumbled together?
Heading tags make articles and blog entries easier to read and to be found on search engines. Moreover, the reason we even have H1-H6, in that particular order, is because the hierarchy notes how H1 is the most important all the way to H6 being the least important. When it comes to filling out these tags, you MUST go in order. If you break away from following this structure, from filling out the most important H-tags first, then the least important H-tags later on, the structure will be broken. Your article will not be found by Google or any other search engines for that matter.
Follow along with these steps and your work will be accepted into Google’s algorithm.
H1, H2, H3 Tag steps
When using a header tag, make sure you space them out.

For Header Tag 1, put your key word in the title, and also remember to put your keyword in FIRST SENTENCE of the FIRST paragraph, and also use the BOLD feature.
Also remember that your first and second paragraphs, only need 5 sentence. No more, no less. In addition, also add clickable hyperlinks all over your article. For example, let’s say you are writing a review for a book by Rachel Ray and your keyword is “Rachel Ray.” Your title and format should look like the following.
H1-Rachel Rays New Book- What she Left out
“Rachel Ray’s new book….”
For Header Tag 2, you can place your keyword into ANY sentence you want. But you MUST make it in italics. AS I said before, just add 5 sentences and employ clickable links anywhere. Here’s another example.
H2- Rachel Rays New Book- What she left out
“In her new book, here is what Rachel Ray leaves out and why you need to know”
For Header Tag 3, put your keyword anywhere and also add another one too. Make sure you also underline it. Add another 3-5 sentences and another paragraph, if necessary.
Let’s say for example your second keyword is “secret recipe”
“H3- How to Benefit from what she left out”
“Now, here is how to benefit from what Rachel Ray left out and how to obtain her secret recipe
This may not be the best example, but it is meant to be easily understood.
And that’s it. Your lesson for the day is done. I wanted to keep these instructions for SEO usage to be as simple as possible since the mechanics behind SEO is, actually, insanely complicated. SEO is complex because Google changes its algorithms on a daily basis. For the average person, it’s a great big headache to follow that.
